For those students who have not completed their clinical or field internship requirements The following steps must be followed.

1. Complete ALL required hospital clinical time.

2. Complete ALL required field internship time with a Mt. Lakes or REMO educational preceptor. You will be given a copy of your data base that shows remaining hours and number of contacts as of June 11th, 2009.

3. Submit any additional paperwork to Scott Richards at the Mt. Lakes office. Be sure to keep copies for your self. Scott now has the database and will keep track of ALL paperwork submitted. All of your student files and folders are at the office.

4. If you are able to complete your requirements prior to the practical test in July you will be allowed to take the practical test on Saturday July 18th. If you pass the practical exam, you will be signed up to take the NYS written test. There is one scheduled in August, and one in November.

5. You have one year to complete the requirements and take the test. After that you will be required to take a AEMT-CC refresher class.

6. Once you receive your NYS exam results contact the Mt. Lakes or REMO office to get an application to intern and become a SOLO ALS Tek.

7. Now the real pressure begins. Being the one who is called for ALS not the one calling for it.
